Bahttsi
Fans of our very first guest on the MastanMusic Hour, slide guitar man Dylan-Thomas Vance, will love his new project Bahttsi. Bahttsi is an ever changing group of regular cast members that plays what might be described as dynamic and authentic american roots music influenced by modern jazz and irish folk. This live performance features the songs of fiddle player and singer songwriter Griff Bear accompanied by harmony vocals, bouzouki, trombone, and a classic guitar-bass-drums rhythm section. Don't miss this live Bahttsi performance in Episode 33, pt 2 of the MastanMusic Hour. For a glimpse of the show, check out the Video Single below!

Bring It On Home Episode |
Cicada Omega
"The Boogie" from the CD
A Transcendental Junkyard Blues Experiment |
From Portland, OR CicadaOmega (AKA the last of a plague of locusts..) is cathartic fuzz filled blues with a junkyard feel. Frontman Rev. B.D. Winfield is an actual minister making music he calls "the realest thing there is". "I am a very spiritual person," he explains. "For me, religion's the whole package: the devil, God and everything in between."
Heated and sweaty, dirty and pure, look for the new CD from Cicada Omega in 2007 on Blue Pepper Records.
Visit Cicada Omega on the web at www.CicadaOmega.com for more
info on their touring schedule.

John Shipe
"Coffe House Gig" from the CD
John Shipe |
Portland based songwriter John Shipe began his musical career in Eugene, OR.
His new CD "Coffee House Gig" showcases his clever wit and pop rock songwriting chops.
He's on tour throughout the NW this Fall.
Check out his tour schedule at John Shipe Myspace

Tony Smiley
"My Love" from the CD
Driving Myself Sane |
Back in 1999, Tony Smiley could be found hanging out in Olympia, WA, slapping and popping his acoustic guitar and busting out some mighty Michael Jackson and Prince covers at local clubs. Hundereds of gigs and two CDs later, he's developed his impressive musicality into a songwriting force and one man band show that's funky, rocking and catchy all at the same time.
MastanMusic is proud to announce that Tony's Latest disc will be released on the MastanMusic label and will feature a bonus studio track, "Holiday Mud", produced by Jeremy and Sam. See pics from the session here!

Bipolar Star
"That Story" from the CD
Bipolar Star |
Bipolar Star frontman Rob Allison (Two Ton Boa/Silverhawk) is a classically trained vocalist. You might not gather that he can churn out operatic vocals on cue from this debut "no apologies rock n roll" release from Bipolar Star. The disc also features Mr Allison on the drums and bass, Tim Cherry and Aaron McCoy on the guitar, and was partly recorded right here at the MastanMusic Studio.
Heavily influenced by Cheap Trick and the Police, Bipolar Star rocks their album out live with new members Frans Laulainen on Drums and Keefe Oneill on Guitar. They maintain a busy touring schedule and play host to well attended shows in their hometown Seattle. Check their Myspace site out for show listings.

Chris Robley
"Culture Jammer" from the CD
The Drunk Dance of Modern Man and Lover |
Founding member of Portland based band, The Sort Ofs..., Chris Robley is quickly becoming known for his solo work with his band Fear of Heights as well. His label, Cutthroat Pop is home to the "melodramatic, popular" sounds of his solo material, the aforementioned The Sort Ofs, and the super talented Rachel Taylor Brown.
Robley is currently on tour on the west coast with dates in Texas, California, Oregon and Washington, and has plans to tour the east coast in October.

The Lords Of Oblivion
"Evening Wolf" from the CD
Evening Wolf "Single" |
This glam influenced track from concept group The Lords Of Oblivion was produced 2,000 years ago at the MastanMusic Studios by the Mastan Druids Jeremy WIlson and Sam Densmore.
A word from the Lords...
"We've been told that one of our ancestors was the infamous Kvedulf who is featured in the Icelandic saga "Egil's Saga." What we didn't realize until that night was that Kveldulf was actually a descendant of ours and that we had unlocked memories going back 2,000 years. During that time we have been reincarnating from generation to generation. Conscientiously I had trouble remembering my past lives. But through meditation and deep concentrated thought my past world came alive again. We have raised horses and cultivated various crops, we have marched with swords and fought many battles, we have loved many women and raised many children that have gone forth and changed the world. Sadly we realize that the earth is about to enter "Ragnarok," the great reckoning where all the evil of the world will be unleashed."

"Bahttsi is short for Goombahttsi, but the "Goom" is silent." Bahttsi has a fun

and adventurous, Bahttsi gives an entertaining performance of their unique blend of styles in this
